Annelies Van Hullebusch is a visual theatre maker who uses objects, maps, mock-ups, poems, illustrations, self-written short stories and audio stories to help her search for the most fitting form in which to compose her work.
Annelies’ performances are characterised by a great love for craft, detail and imagination. Research is a fundamental aspect of her work.
Audio stories have been a significant source of inspiration and continue to take on a more prominent role within her work. Last year, Annelies developed the ‘(h)earzine Vogelduif’, a booklet to browse through in your own living room whilst listening to a podcast. About the booklet the following was written: “a (...) warm and touching artistic gem (...) which allows you to create your own home theatre”. Her goal is to adapt the ‘(h)earzines’ into a series of stories about the position of the humanity in an ever changing world.
In 2023-2024 PAPIERLIED (worktitle) will have its premiere (3 december 2023 - hetpaleis, Antwerp).
Annelies Van Hullebusch reprises BOEK-STEEN-PAPIER en the theatrical installations VOGELDUIF & ALFONSINA.
